I don’t have much time to go birding these days so I have to be very selective when I get the chance. I’d heard, via eBird, that a Cassin’s Kingbird had been found in town. The first record for Leon County! In fact it appears to be a first for the Florida Panhandle. I’ve seen many of this species in Arizona but only once before in Florida. I spent an enjoyable 30 minutes this afternoon, watching my 2nd state Cassin’s flycatch under a beautiful bluebird sky. It was my 287th species for Leon County. I managed to shoot some iPhonescope videos and pictures.
