Here is the result of my very first attempt at digiscoping. Not a bad first attempt and what a bird to start with! It, a Long-billed Curlew, was at Fort De Soto Park in Pinellas Co., Florida. It was September 2004. I digiscoped a lot over the following 5 years but I don’t employ the method much these days, especially after my trusty old KOWA Prominar took a header on a concrete jetty. Makes me weep thinking about it! Anyway, digiscoping is a really cool method of getting great pictures. If you’re interested in learning more about it, check out this online article by Audubon.
