Dad and I found this beautiful snake in Apalachicola National Forest last night. It was incredibly tame and curled up in my hand enjoying the warmth radiating from my skin. Snakes often come out onto the forest roads in the evening to warm themselves up so they’re good n’ ready to go hunt. Garter snakes eat toads and other small critter. Plenty of toads were abroad on the forest roads last night as well. Probably wouldn’t be as excited as we were to meet a garter snake!
